The Judgment of God
"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth..."
Revelation 14:6, 7"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
Revelation 14:6, 7Gospel means "good news". It is the message of salvation that God offers to humanity through Jesus Christ.
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Matthew 24:14"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16
But to enter the Kingdom, there is an exclusive "Door". No one can enter by their own merits, but only through Jesus Christ and faith in His sacrifice.
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you... how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."
1 Corinthians 15:1-4The gospel is not just information, but the divine power itself in action to transform lives.
Jews and Gentiles, every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people (Revelation 14:6).
Jesus died for our sins, paying the price that we should have paid.
"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures" - 1 Corinthians 15:3
Christ not only died for us but also teaches us how to live in obedience to God.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments" - John 14:15
"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him" - John 14:21
God's law remains the standard of righteousness for the saved.
"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law" - Romans 3:31
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" - Romans 6:1,2
π‘ Grace is not freedom to sin. Studying and obeying the Word brings us out of darkness.
The plan of salvation was established before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
The message of salvation is valid for every era and generation.
The salvation offered results in eternal life with God.
It is the last message of mercy before the final judgment.
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
Proverbs 9:10"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."
Job 28:28"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
Ecclesiastes 12:13Recognize God's holiness and majesty.
Keep the commandments out of love and gratitude.
Avoid everything that displeases God.
Seek divine guidance in all decisions.
"But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God."
1 Corinthians 1:24"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption."
1 Corinthians 1:30To fear God is to receive Christ! Jesus is God's own wisdom. When we accept Him as Savior and Lord, we are truly fearing God.
"The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death." Proverbs 14:27
"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is faithful, making wise the simple."
Psalm 19:7Written by the Finger of God
"And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God."

Exodus 20:3Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
Exodus 20:4-6Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain

Exodus 20:14Thou shalt not steal
Exodus 20:15Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour

Exodus 20:17The Pharisees and doctors of the Law in Jesus' day were extremely zealous in keeping the commandments, but they failed to fulfill the Law. Why? Because they tried to do it through their own human efforts.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..."
Romans 1:16We cannot keep God's commandments by ourselves. We need God's power in our lives. Notice that the commandments are almost all in the future indicative, indicating a promise: those who accept salvation in Jesus and receive the power of the Holy Spirit will begin to obey.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Philippians 4:13This is how the new covenant mentioned in Hebrews 8 is fulfilled, where God promised:
"I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people."
Hebrews 8:10Obedience is the natural result of a heart transformed by the power of the gospel, not the condition for salvation.
Jesus summarized the Ten Commandments into two great principles:
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
Matthew 22:37"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
Matthew 22:39β οΈ Important: Summarizing is not the same as reducing. A summary contains the essence of the entire original content, while reducing would mean eliminating parts. Jesus did not eliminate the commandments but showed that Love is the foundation of them all (Matthew 22:40).
Note: God's Law was not abolished by Christ but rather fulfilled and exalted by Him (Matthew 5:17-19).
The Bible teaches us that there are three main ways to give glory to God:
Recognize God as the Source of Everything
"Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God."
Psalm 50:23"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."
1 Chronicles 16:29"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
Psalm 100:4"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18Confess and Repent of Sins
"My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him..."
Joshua 7:19"The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty..."
Exodus 34:6,7βοΈ God is merciful AND just, love AND justice. He is all of this! Confessing is attributing the guilt to myself, recognizing that I sinned.
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."
2 Corinthians 7:10π Be ashamed of sin: Be grieved, not desiring or wanting to do it again. This is the sorrow that leads to salvation!
Good Works that Manifest the Light
"Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."
John 15:8"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:10"The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out."
Proverbs 13:9"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Reminder: This prophecy will be studied in detail in a future lesson, where we will explore its historical fulfillment and prophetic meaning.
